on sunday i will have been working at explore for 30 days which means that 'll be eligible for the staff discount on books music and food, and also will be able to buy the 'e-meal': $3 meal from the bistro. very exciting. books galore and healthful meals!

have just come home from work, had a small supper of hot soy milk and a leftover tuna sandwich and am thinking that one of the drawbacks of coatchecking, particularly if one is doing it alone, is that drunk guys can stand there and hit on you and you have no escape. it's extremely tedious at best rather stressful at worst. tonight was particularly bad for some reason. who knows. am v tired. tomorrow night we're open 10-4, rather than the usual 10-2 - i may struggle. i have to be at the bookshop at 9am tomorrow (well, later today, really). it all makes for a rather long day. hmm.

you know, one of the things that i really miss about australia is the good cheese. americans just don't get cheese, i think. i am unable to get decent cheese here. it makes me cross. there is a bright light on the horizon, however: the aspen cooking school has just opened a cheese shop. they have a lot of imported cheeses. this is exciting news. for the words 'imported cheeses' read 'real cheeses'. i'm very excited about this but have not yet found the time to go in and sample/gorge their wares. i hope there are some nice stinky washed rinds in there. i'll bet there are. mmmm.

and on that pleasant note, to bed. yawn. may read a little to decompress from the evening's work. bleugh.
