here's what i did to celebrate my birthday:

i slept in. i went to 'breakfast in america' for breakfast. i had an enormous omlette with mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach and swiss cheese with hash browns on the side and black coffee and nice orange juice. then i went home and went back to bed and stayed there reading and watching dvds until it was time to get up and shower and get dressed for dinner. we ate at matsuhisa, of course. tempura rock shrimp, yellowtail jalapeno, new style salmon sashimi, a dragon role and, naturally, sake. after dinner there were drinks. quite nice.

i got a beautiful kettle and a beautiful toaster, both highly polished stainless steel, and some striped knee socks (i'm in love!) and some glittery powder for glamifying myself and a bird pin and some leopard print underpants with red trim and a sparkling puffin pillbox (he's quite magnificent). also, some nice cards arrived. thank you, everyone.
