ok, so it's been a while. boo to that.

it has finally turned into spring here. so nice and nice and warm. there are lots of trees with blossoms which are very nice and make the air smell good. at last i see other people wearing birkenstocks (i've been wearing mine pretty much all year).

have realized that the things i like about america are all fairly trivial - their deep commitment to breakfast cereals, the cheap as cheap candy bars, the weird foodstuffs in the supermarket, the shape of the payphones etc etc - and that i don't want to live here forever. that's right: i'll be home for good at some point. hooray. probably late 2004 - though, of course, there will be the royal visit in october this year.

so, no real news to report. oh well. was sick for a while last week but that doesn't really bear repeating in detail. bleugh. have been very productive at work today: ordered several new magazines and finally dug up a few i'd been searching for for ages. yay for me - ohm the job satisfaction.
