from our french correspondant:

sam reports that there's an "oversupply of weirdos, grotty men trying to
pick her up at the bus-stop, globules of phlegm on
the street from where people have spat, dog poo,
greyness, disappearance of the sun in the
afternoon". she asks whether i wouldn't rather be in france. well, with all that to recommend it i'm sorely tempted, i must say. though denver definitely has the weirdos i think i'm really missing out on the phlegm, dog shit and inclemant weather. grotty men don't try to pick me up but the weirdos seem to think that i'm in their league so they say hello and sometimes ask for money. guys who beg with cardboard signs here always finish them off with "god bless" - i wonder if that helps.

am currently in the midst of doing two things at once: calling to enquire about places to rent in aspen and cutting the split ends out of my hair. you know, they tell you it's very dry here and you think, 'yeah yeah, whatever. it's dry.' pooh pooh. well, yeah, i have patched of dried up skin on my face, my hair is splitting like aiming for world domination and my lips are just about to chap right off. perhaps that's why the grotty men don't try to pick me up at the busstop. hmm.

have taken up tv yoga with wai lana. wai lana wears unbelievably hideous jumpsuits with floral wreaths around her head, neck, wrists and ankles. she communicates telepathically and often dances around weirdly during the quiet meditation time at the end of the show. she's very entertaining. i hope the neighbours can't see me through the window. you can check out wai lana and her jumpsuits, if you're interested, at: http://www.wailana.com/gallery.htm .

had dreams about spike last night. perhaps i should cut down on my buffy consumption. hmm. oh, and for those of you looking forward to the new season of buffy, spike gets all vampy again and dawn is, believe it or not, slight less annoying. ah, also 'harry potter and the chamber of secrets' opens today. must try to convince uncle stan to see it with me. he's listened to the harry potter audio books. i'm not sure if that counts. am feeling very hip wearing my hermione granger bandaid, though. huh huh. the kids - they love me.

ha.

ok, gotta go. more phone sleazing. sigh. maybe someone will want to give me a job. maybe.
