Last night we accidentally had a little tree trimming party and it was quite wonderful. I had intended to have some people over for afternoon tea after Stephen and I had decorated the tree. Well, we're such timewasters and general layabouts that was barely managed to get the tree, get dressed and eat breakfast before our guests came at 4pm. We made popcorn from scratch and put everyone to work making garlands from popcorn and fresh cranberries with needles and threads. We had drinks and snacks, including a rather delightful caramel apple. We listed to Christmas music performed by Dean Martin and Glenn Miller and people like that. It was quite possibly the most civilized and enjoyable party I've ever been to. I have posted some pictures here.
